SUMMARY:
A vacancy has arisen in the Commercial Department of my client for a Senior Associate to join their team in Johannesburg, Stellenbosch, or Cape Town.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

Lead the drafting and negotiation of finance-related documents, with a focus on complex commercial transactions (experience with preference share funding is advantageous).
Oversee and manage the process of closing finance transactions, ensuring timely and effective execution.
Prepare and review legal documentation including corporate resolutions, legal opinions, and various closing instruments.
Provide strategic mentorship and support to junior associates, trainees, and other support staff, fostering professional growth and development.

POSITION INFO:
Requirements:

At least 2 years' post-articles experience in corporate and commercial law, with a preference for candidates with finance-related expertise.
LLB degree and admitted as an attorney.
Demonstrated experience in corporate and commercial law, particularly in finance transactions.
Strong commercial drafting skills, especially in relation to complex finance documents and corporate agreements.
High level of professionalism, confidentiality, and integrity in all aspects of work.
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining a high standard of work under pressure.
Self-driven with a strong sense of initiative and responsibility, able to work both independently and collaboratively.
Excellent organizational and time management skills, ensuring deadlines are met consistently.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to build and maintain client relationships.
Good commercial sense
