Sales Engineer – Middelburg or Witbank 
Exciting Opportunity for a Dynamic Sales Professional

A leading company in the industrial sector is seeking an accomplished Sales Engineer to drive growth and profitability across African markets. This role, based in Middelburg, is ideal for professionals with a robust background in the Mining, Power, Oil & Gas industries and a passion for building lasting client relationships.

About the Role
Reporting directly to the Vice President, Service Sales Africa, you will:

• Drive Sales: Secure orders for engineered industrial products and services through a relationship-based approach, engaging decision-makers in the raw material, steel, power, oil & gas sectors.
• Market Analysis: Conduct in-depth market research and analysis to understand key business drivers, competitor activities, and market potential in the mining & metals industry.
• Client Engagement: Perform product application audits at customer facilities, ensure CRM data accuracy, and deliver high-quality client call reports.
• Financial Targets: Meet and exceed sales targets, ensuring actual sales align with projected figures and promoting repeat business and market share growth.

Key Qualifications & Experience

• Education: National Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (or a related field).
• Industry Experience: 3 – 5 years in the Mining and Power, Oil & Gas industry, with proven experience in selling, negotiating, and closing commercial service agreements/contracts.
• Business Acumen: Strong understanding of market drivers, competitor activities, SWOT analysis, and excellent sales & negotiation skills.
• Technical Insight: Familiarity with industry-specific terminology and drivelines (motors, couplings, gearboxes), complemented by proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Personal Attributes: Highly persuasive, socially confident, analytical, innovative, and results-oriented. You must be a strategic relationship builder with excellent communication and conflict management skills.
