SUMMARY:
Our client in the Construction/Plumbing industry is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety Officer to join their team in Ballito. As a Safety Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of employees, contractors, and visitors on construction and plumbing sites.

POSITION INFO:
Job Title: Safety Officer

Location: Ballito, KwaZulu-Natal

Job Type: Full-time

Minimum Qualifications:

SACPCMP (South African Council for the Project and Construction Management Professions) certification
2-3 years of experience in construction and plumbing safety
Valid driver's license and own reliable vehicle
Strong understanding of safety legislation, regulations, and standards
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Key Responsibilities:

Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety management systems Conduct regular site audits and inspections to identify potential hazards
Manage and maintain accurate safety files and records - Provide training and guidance on safety procedures and protocols
Conduct investigations into incidents and accidents
Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety legislation and regulations
Clear understanding of safety files and prepping of safety files per job site
Firm understanding of audits per site
Must be able to run and manage a team, address issues as they arise and manage PPE
