Restaurant Manager

SUMMARY:
The Restaurant Manager at a 5-star lodge in Lephalale is responsible for ensuring a world-class dining experience for guests by overseeing all restaurant operations, managing staff, maintaining high service standards, and optimizing revenue while controlling costs.
Key Responsibilities:

• Guest Experience & Service Excellence
• Deliver an exceptional dining experience that aligns with 5-star lodge standards.
• Handle guest inquiries, complaints, and special requests professionally.
• Maintain seamless communication with other departments (kitchen, bar, reservations).
• Staff Management & Training
• Recruit, train, and supervise restaurant staff (waiters, bartenders, hosts).
• Conduct performance reviews and implement training programs.
• Ensure staff adheres to service protocols and grooming standards.
• Operations & Inventory Control
• Oversee daily restaurant operations, including opening and closing procedures.
• Monitor food and beverage stock levels and place orders as needed.
• Work closely with the Head Chef and Food & Beverage Manager to coordinate menu planning and presentation.
• Financial & Cost Control
• Manage restaurant budgets, control costs, and ensure profitability.
• Implement effective waste control measures and stock rotation.
• Maximize revenue through upselling and guest engagement.
• Compliance & Health Standards
• Ensure the restaurant complies with health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
• Maintain strict adherence to liquor laws and licensing requirements.

POSITION INFO:

• Education:
• Diploma or Degree in Hospitality Management, Food & Beverage Management, or a related field.
• Experience:
• Minimum 3–5 years experience as a Restaurant Manager in a 5-star lodge, luxury resort, or fine-dining establishment.
• Strong background in food and beverage service with excellent wine knowledge.
• Skills & Competencies:
• Exceptional leadership and staff management skills.
• Strong guest service orientation and ability to handle high-end clientele.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in restaurant management software and POS systems.
• High attention to detail and ability to multitask under pressure.
• Additional Requirements:
• Willingness to live on-site at the lodge.
• Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
• Valid driver’s license (preferred).
