Resident Engineer

POSITION INFO:

The Project Quality Plan must define monitoring requirements and assess the effectiveness of the monitoring process
The Engineer’s Representative (ER) and specialists are responsible for conducting administrative or monitoring activities either on-site or off-site
The contractor holds full responsibility for ensuring the quality of construction and installation work as outlined in the construction contract. Site-specific ER procedures must align with the Client's brief and the conditions of the construction contract, without creating any conflicts with contractual requirements
All arrangements must be properly recorded or referenced in the Project Quality Plan
Site responsibilities include using one's own vehicle for commuting to and from project sites
It is essential to supervise all on-site construction activities, ensuring they align with approved designs, specifications, and contractual agreements
The role also involves monitoring project milestones and ensuring timely completion in accordance with contractual deadlines
Full compliance with COLTO / COTO, SANS 1200, project-specific requirements, and the Conditions of Contract (including SAICE GCC, FIDIC, and NEC) must be maintained
Additionally, the preparation of detailed technical reports and presentations is required, providing insights and recommendations to support project progress

Skills & Experience:
A minimum of 10 years' experience in the civil engineering
Expert proficiency in Civil 3D software is essential.
Building services, earthworks, and a strong background in project design and management.

Qualification:
B.Eng. in Civil Engineering or B. Tech in Civil Engineering or National Diploma in Civil Engineering

Only South African Residents or individuals with a relevant South African work permit will be considered.
