Resident Engineer

SUMMARY:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Resident Engineer – Roads to oversee and manage the construction and maintenance of roadworks on a major infrastructure project.

As the Resident Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality, safety, and timely completion of all road-related activities on-site, in line with project specifications, standards, and local regulations.

POSITION INFO:
Our client in the Engineering sector is looking for a Resident Engineer to join them for a project in the Western Cape area.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Registered as a Pr Eng/ Pr Tech Eng
• Minimum of 3 years experience post registration with ECSA
• In-depth knowledge of road construction methods, materials, and design standards.

• Provide on-site leadership for all roadwork activities, ensuring compliance with design documents, engineering standards, and safety requirements.
• Oversee daily site operations, monitor construction progress, and address any technical issues related to road construction.
• Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and project management teams to ensure seamless project execution.
• Review and approve construction methodologies, work plans, and progress reports.
• Conduct regular site inspections to monitor construction quality, including materials testing and compliance with road specifications.
• Resolve any engineering or design issues that arise during construction.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies and regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of site activities, meetings, and communications, reporting regularly to senior management and stakeholders.
