Research and Knowledge Management Specialist

SUMMARY:
Purpose of the job:

The Research and Knowledge Management Specialist will play a crucial role in shaping the organization's information landscape, driving innovation, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement. The purpose of the Research and Knowledge management specialist is to provide research and advisory service relating to the economic, socio-political, legislative and competitive trends and provide valuable insights for strategic decision making, as well as design and implement organisational business processes accordingly. To advise the organisation on Knowledge Management practices and ensure compliance with relevant Legislation governing information within government entities and other sectors and provide research support to the organisation

Minimum required experience:

• 3 – 5 years in related Research Methodologies and – Planning
• 3 – 5 years in Knowledge management projects and processes
• 3 – 5 years in Information administration
• Preferably in the Financial Services Sector, Development Finance or Housing Finance, Housing Sector or Built Environment. Experience in both housing development finance sector and built environment is an added advantage
• A relevant post graduate qualification will be an added advantage

Knowledge Management

• Develop and implement knowledge management strategies to capture, organize, and share information effectively.
• Design and maintain a centralized knowledge repository, ensuring easy access and retrieval of information by relevant stakeholders.
• Maintain and review Knowledge Management Policies periodically to promote knowledge sharing through the organisation's business processes and systems by among others, strengthening links between knowledge sharing and the information systems.

• Conduct in-depth research on industry trends, players, and relevant topics to provide valuable insights for strategic decision-making
• Analyse and synthesize complex data sets, turning information into actionable intelligence for the organization
• Provide advisory services and inform stakeholders of any major impact and change in the economic environment potentially affecting the operations and strategic deliverables
• Disseminate research results through publication of research findings, position papers, and presentation at seminars, workshops, conferences etc.

• Develop and implement the company’s data warehouse, recordkeeping, and information dissemination processes.
• Facilitate cross-functional collaboration and information exchange to enhance the collective intelligence of the organization.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to develop long-term research plans that align with organizational objectives.
• Foster a culture of collaboration by establishing effective communication channels and knowledge-sharing platforms.
• Collaborate closely with various departments to identify emerging research needs and align knowledge management strategies accordingly.
• Generate regular reports on knowledge management metrics and key performance indicators for management review.
• Establish clear service level agreements (SLAs) to manage stakeholder expectations and deliver high-quality research outputs promptly.

• Establish feedback loops to gather insights from stakeholders regarding the effectiveness and relevance of research services.
• Conduct regular reviews with stakeholders to assess the impact of research initiatives on decision-making processes.
