About the Role

A leading renewable energy solutions provider is seeking a Customer Segment Lead to drive the development and expansion of energy supply agreements for medium (<50MW) and small (1-5MW) energy customers. This role requires a dynamic leader who can identify new opportunities, build strong customer relationships, and shape innovative energy solutions in a rapidly evolving market.

Key Responsibilities

• Market Research & Business Strategy – Analyze energy needs, procurement processes, and regulatory landscapes to develop and implement business strategies for customer acquisition.
• Customer & Stakeholder Engagement – Establish and maintain relationships with key industry players, customers, regulatory bodies, and internal teams to enhance business growth.
• Product Development & Sales Execution – Work closely with internal teams to design tailored renewable energy solutions, negotiate Energy Supply Agreements (ESAs), and secure wheeling arrangements with customers.
• Performance Monitoring & Reporting – Track and assess sales performance, market trends, and customer demand to drive informed business decisions.
• Innovation & Best Practices – Research and implement global and regional energy sector trends to optimize customer energy solutions.

Qualifications & Experience

• 8+ years of experience in sales, business development, or product development, ideally within the energy sector.
• Strong knowledge of South Africa’s energy market, including regulatory frameworks, tariffs, and operational requirements.
• Proven ability to identify, engage, and secure business opportunities within the medium and small energy customer segments.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• A passion for renewable energy and supporting businesses in their transition to sustainable solutions.
