Raw Materials Planner - Textiles

SUMMARY:
Tongaat. 15 minutes from Ballito and Umhlanga areas. 
Excellent opportunity exists with this well-established home textile manufacturer for a Planner, who will play a key role in co-ordinating and managing the raw materials and order planning activities to ensure the customers’ demands are met and orders are delivered on time.

POSITION INFO:

• Job Overview:
  Raw materials Planning: Develop and maintain schedules for incoming shipments that meet the production requirements while optimising resources and minimising lead times.
• Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels and co-ordinate with procurement and production teams to ensure adequate stock levels to fulfill orders on time.
• Supplier co-ordination: Liaise with suppliers to procure raw materials and components necessary for production, ensuring timely delivery and quality standards.
• Quality Assurance: Work closely with the quality control team to maintain raw material quality standards are met from the suppliers.
• Cost Management: Monitor raw material costs and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce expenses without compromising quality.
• Communication: Effectively communicate with internal teams and suppliers daily to provide updates on production schedules, order status and any potential issues or delays.
• Problem Solving: Proactively identify and resolve any supplier production-related issues or bottlenecks to ensure smooth operations and timely delivery of shipments.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of shipment schedules, inventory levels, supplier agreements, and other relevant documentation.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance supplier efficiency and quality

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management or related field would be preferred
• Previous experience in production planning, merchandising, or supply chain management in the textile or manufacturing industry
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• MS Office proficient
• Sync experience would be beneficial
• Attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of textile manufacturing processes and quality standards
• Strong organizational and time management skills
