POSITION INFO:
An opportunity has emerged for a Quarry Manager for our client a reputable mining company. This role reports directly to the Assistant Industrial Director.The primary responsibility is the comprehensive management and oversight of all mining and crushing operations. The position requires ensuring compliance with relevant acts, regulations, and standards specific to mining. Additionally, it involves monitoring the performance of all plant equipment and products within the operation, with a particular emphasis on People Management and Development.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
· Manage production range and product availability.
· Oversee plant availability and utilization.
· Monitor productivity for adequate production.
· Ensure plant reliability.
· Guarantee on-time, full delivery to customers.
· Track EBITDA margin and control costs.
· Manage budget per financial policies.
· Supervise third-party contractors, including drilling and blasting.
· Track customer satisfaction and market share.
· Adhere to safety stats and complete annual NOSA audits.
· Ensure legal compliance with Health Department, DMRE, etc.
· Support SHEQ initiatives and sustain safety improvements.
· Lead people development and succession planning projects.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· SAQA accredited 3-4 year Engineering or Mining Diploma,
· Postgraduate qualification (advantageous).
· 5-10 years of quarry experience.
· Minimum 5 years in income statement and cash cost management.
· GCC Mechanical, Electrical, or Mining.
· A deep understanding of geology, mining techniques, and regulatory compliance.
· The ability to balance productivity with safety and environmental responsibility.
· Proficient in MS Office.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Valid South African driver's license.
· Experience in a unionised environment.
