Quantity Surveyor (Secunda)

SUMMARY:
Our client is seeking to employ a Quantity Surveyor who will be based in Secunda.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

• Relevant Quantity Surveying tertiary qualification or similar 
• Ability to understand technical specifications and mechanical drawings
• Understanding work flows connected with scaffolding, insulation and painting 
• Understanding of project planning and controls 
• Understanding of the material requirements and norms (scaffolding, painting and insulation works)
• Strong administrative, organization and problem solving skills are required. 
• The appointee must be deadline driven and results orientated 
• Above average computer skills – MS Office suite (including Projects or similar)
• Have a valid drivers license 
• At least 3 years relevant insulation / scaffolding / painting 
  experience preferably within the petrochemical industry.

• Accurately and timeously price all works / tenders 
• Verification of site measurements and scopes of work  
• Ensuring the correct and applicable rates are being applied to the works  
• Co-ordinate with site management to verify that work is executed as per the Purchase Order  
• Ensure that an effective system of monitoring the progress of the works and reporting thereon is maintained and that accurate site records are maintained 
• Ensure that all material and other allowables are purchased in accordance with approved works 
• Reconciling monthly invoicing against work executed 
• Protect the company’s contractual position by compiling and submitting accurate  contractual notices.  
• Review all daily diaries 
• Evaluation and submission of claims for unplanned works/standing time  
• Ensure that accurate site records are maintained 
• Implement and maintain appropriate processes to track, review and report on site productivity and work performance
