Quality Engineer (Bolting)

SUMMARY:
We invite candidates to apply for the Quality Engineer role in the Quality Assurance Department of our client in the Automotive Manufacturing Industry, based in Kariega.

POSITION INFO:

Duties:

• Establishing root causes and implement corrective actions for allocated quality problems.
• Interfacing with various departments within the Group
• Present findings / reports at various forums and management structures
• Liaising with overseas counterparts with regard to build/quality matters
• Co-ordinate and be accountable for Quality issues.
• Lead cross functional teams when required.
• Monitor and reporting of non-conformances and processes to drive early detection and initiate corrective actions.
  
  
• Plan, define, coordinate, and take accountability for quality audits and inspections across Press, Body, Paint, and Assembly shops
• Ensure the maintenance and continuous improvement of product surface quality and mechanical joints
• Monitor and report on non-conformances and process deviations to uphold quality standards
• Drive product improvements by identifying top recurring faults, investigating root causes, and implementing effective corrective actions
• Align all quality initiatives with Konzern Quality Standards, promoting continuous improvement across all production areas

• Have a minimum National Diploma in one of the following engineering sciences (ND Mechanical. Electrical, Mechatronics, Metallurgy)

• Have 3 -5 years’ experience within the manufacturing industry.

• Have good report writing and presentation skills.
• Have proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Sound knowledge of Vehicle Manufacturing processes
• Sound problem-solving skills and Quality Tools e.g., Fishbone, FMEA, SPC & DOE
• Experience in interpreting measuring reports and technical drawings
• Proficiency in database software packages (MS SQL, Oracle etc.)
• Be assertive and have the ability to motivate.
• Be a team player and be able to work under pressure.
• In-depth knowledge of bolting equipment and applications inclusive of monitoring systems and controls.

• Analytically minded with the ability and inclination to work accurately with databases.
• System based data extraction, interpretation and analysis.

• BSc Degree / B-Tech Mechanical / Metallurgy or Mechatronics Engineering
