Quality Controller

SUMMARY:
We are looking for a  Quality Controller.  The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and compliance with regulations. They will conduct thorough inspections, identify defects or deviations from specifications, and implement corrective actions to maintain product integrity. We have a permanent role in Cape Town.

POSITION INFO:
Key responsibilities / main job duties:
- Perform inspections on incoming materials, in-process products, and finished goods to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
- Identify and document defects, non-conformities, or deviations from quality standards.
- Conduct root cause analysis for quality issues and collaborate with relevant teams to implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Maintain accurate records of quality inspections, test results, and corrective actions taken.
- Monitor production processes to identify opportunities for improvement and ensure adherence to quality procedures.
- Train production staff on quality standards, inspection techniques, and best practices.
- Collaborate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve quality-related issues and improve product quality.
- Conduct internal audits to assess compliance with quality management systems and regulatory requirements.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to quality control.
- Participate in cross-functional teams to support continuous improvement initiatives and drive quality excellence across the organization.

Qualification and/or professional license(s)
- Diploma or equivalent in quality management, engineering, or a related field.
- Certification in quality management or quality assurance (Lead Quality Auditor, Internal auditor or Certified Quality Engineer).
- National Diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of statistical analysis techniques and quality improvement methodologies.
- Experience in conducting internal and external audits.
- Familiarity with risk management principles and tools (FMEA, risk assessment).
- Familiarity with root cause analysis tools (Bow tie, Fishbone, 5w).
- Familiarity with industry-specific quality standards and requirements.

Qualification and/or professional license(s)
- Diploma or equivalent in quality management, engineering, or a related field.

Years of experience needed
- 2+

Sound knowledge of
- Proven experience in quality control or assurance, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Strong understanding of quality management systems, methodologies, and tools.
- Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements and quality standards (ISO, SACAA regulations).
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to identify root causes of quality issues and implement effective solutions.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and precision in inspection and documentation.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in using quality control software and tools for data analysis and reporting.
- Willingness to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
