Quality Assurance Team Leader

SUMMARY:
Our client is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Team Leader to join their team in Port Elizabeth. This role will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all activities within the Quality Department and on the shop floor.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage a team, ensuring smooth operations and adherence to quality standards.
• Monitor and provide daily updates on key quality indicators.
• Supervise and coordinate all quality-related activities on the shop floor.
• Drive and implement actions for continuous quality improvement.
• Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Have the authority to block or initiate sorting of parts in response to customer complaints or non-conformities.
• Maintain and update the Control Plan, Inspection Plan, Work Instructions, and other essential documents related to the quality management system.
• Support the integration, training, and development of employees’ skills.
• Escalate issues related to the team to the QA Manager when necessary.
• Monitor daily scrap performance and lead root cause analysis for top scrap.
• Assist with ZQMP activities in SAP.
• Conduct export checks to ensure compliance with international standards.
• Maintain SPC/Procella for process monitoring and quality control.
• Verify the accuracy of accredited quality data within SAP.
• Be flexible and willing to work at any station as assigned by the QA Manager.

• Solid understanding of Quality Management Systems, including reading plans, measurement techniques, production technologies, and products.
• In-depth knowledge of quality tools and problem-solving methodologies.
• Proficient in computer tools, including the Office Suite and SAP.
• Strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to propose effective solutions.
• Responsible, exemplary, and capable of managing teams with confidence.
