Quality Assurance Officer

SUMMARY:
We are seeking a diligent and experienced Quality Assurance (QA) Officer to join our client's team in Ottery, Cape Town.

This person will be responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining quality assurance processes and procedures to ensure our packaging and manufacturing process meet the highest standards.

This role includes supporting product development, conducting regular inspections, writing and updating SOPS, and
collaborating with production teams to address quality issues.

The QA Officer will also monitor quality performance data, ensure regulatory compliance. and provide training and support to staff on best practices,

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and maintain QA processes and procedures.
• New Product Development Support by collaborating with the product development team to ensure new products meet quality standards.
• Conduct regular inspections and quality checks on processes and finished products.
• Write and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPS) to ensure consistency and compliance.
• Collaborate with production teams to identify and address manufacturing issues,
• Monitor, analyse and report on quality performance data to identify trends and areas for improvement,
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
• Provide training and support to staff on quality assurance processes and best practices. Facilitate training of SOPs
• Investigate and resolve customer complaints related to finished goods quality,
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of QA activities and findings.
• Conduct in internal and external audits to ensure compliance With quality standards,
• Liaise with suppliers to ensure raw materials meet quality requirements,
• Building own QMS Knowledge and Compliance
• Participate in building quality objectives and provide ongoing metrics that directly support the achievement Of such objectives
• Perform production checks and follow through on HSE minutes. findings, and improvements
• Implements efficient document control to ensure that only valid documents are utilized across the whole organization
• Leading RCA investigations into product complaints and deviations
• Assisting in management of change processes to ensure no quality impact from engineering procedural changes

• Bachelor's degree in Quality Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Additional certifications such as ISO 9001 Lead Auditor or Six Sigma (preferred).
• 3 years of experience in the manufacturing industry.
• Strong knowledge of quality management systems, especially ISO 9001 standards.
• Familiarity with statistical process control (SPQ and other quality tools (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma),
• Implementation and working knowledge Of ISO 9001
• Experience in writing and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards,
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and address quality issues,
• Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
