SUMMARY:
Intermediate Python DevOps Engineer
We are seeking a skilled Python DevOps Engineer to join our innovative Conversational AI Services team. This role involves developing backend functionality, improving test automation, and maintaining microservices within a cloud-native environment.

You’ll leverage your expertise in Python development, DevOps practices, and public cloud platforms like Azure or AWS, while working with modern tools such as Terraform, Kubernetes, and Docker. The ideal candidate has a strong background in automation, infrastructure as code, and API development, complemented by a collaborative mindset in an Agile setting.

Contract Duration: 3 Years
Location Preference: South African citizens/residents preferred. Applicants with valid work permits are welcome.

Essential Skills Requirements:
Do you have the expertise to thrive in a cutting-edge environment? We're looking for:

• Backend Development:
  • 3–5 years of Python development experience.
  • 3+ years working with Test Frameworks.
• DevOps Proficiency:
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and Docker.
  • Expertise in Pipeline Setup and Automation (e.g., GitHub Actions).
  • Skills in Infrastructure as Code and tools like Terraform, Ansible, ArgoCD, Flux, and Helm.
• Familiarity with ITIL Operation processes (Incident, Problem, Change Management).
• Experience with Public Cloud Providers (Azure, AWS).

• Experience developing and maintaining Microservices.
• Agile Development experience (e.g., Scrum).
• Tools & IDEs: Azure DevOps.
• Knowledge of Prometheus, Grafana, and MongoDB.
• Familiarity with Azure Cognitive Services and the Microsoft Tech Stack.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or similar.
• 3–5 years of Python development experience.
• 1–3 years of experience with Public Cloud (Azure).

• Perform 2nd and 3rd level operations support.
• Develop new functionality for both backend and frontend systems.
• Enhance and maintain existing solutions.
• Develop and improve automated tests for the solution, ensuring high test coverage.
• Build APIs for backend integration.
• Conduct functional and technical refinements.
• Perform quality checks across development teams.
• Support error analysis during testing and rollouts.
