Mining group listed on the New York Stock Exchange requires the skills set of a Procurement Professional at one of their transport sites in Johannesburg. The role is perfect for an individual who likes to get stuck in the details and has a passion for logistics. This is a diversified role with a wide variety of responsibilities and opportunities to grow in the organization.

Responsibilities:

• Capturing of stock order on vendor database
• Negotiating prices and lead times
• Oversee inventory and deliveries
• Liaising with finance and providing reports
• Cross border communication with clearing agents
• Prepare transport documentation (invoices, customs clearing)
• Reverse logistics
• 3PL management

Requirements:

• Degree in Supply Chain or Logistics
• Finance qualification would be advantageous
• SAPICS or APICS certifications – CPIM
• 5 years experience in a similar role – procurement and logistics/transport
• Experience working in the mining sector (industrial environment)
• Experience with imports and exports 
• Experience in ERP or finance systems (SAP, Accpac etc)
• Ability to travel locally and internationally
