Purchasing Manager - Benoni Area

SUMMARY:
Well established manufacturing Company in the Steel industry is in need of an Experienced Purchasing Manager to join their Organization in the Benoni Area.

POSITION INFO:

The ideal candidate will have a BCom Degree and 5–7 years of experience in purchasing and procurement, with a strong background in the manufacturing sector. This role is essential for ensuring efficient procurement strategies, supplier management, and cost optimization across the organization.

1. Prepares, analyses, and coordinates with local suppliers for efficient delivery of products and services; tracks and develops reports to identify progress of cost saving initiatives for the facility.
2. Reviews and processes purchase requisitions, purchase order adjustments, and local purchases; develops and assists with implementation of processes for efficiency improvements; provides customer service and departmental support.
3. Supervise the quality of products and process from the supply area
4. Analyses, identifies, and communicates information regarding purchase orders from vendors; identifies, researches, and resolves problems relating to purchasing issues
5. Develops departmental communications; maintains and updates departmental inventories for certain items, i.e., safety supplies and maintenance MRO
6. Responsible for monthly and annual stock counts
7. Responsible for continuous improvement with regards to use of systems to manage stock and supplier transactions
8. Define quality/EHS responsibilities of department members and conduct assessment.
9. Responsible for performance management and development for department members.
10. Participate and support all company audit program, internal or external including ISO system
