JOB CONTEXT:
We are seeking a skilled and API-certified Pumps Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of pumps, particularly those used in industrial applications. In this role, you will work with API standards, ensuring the pumps and related equipment meet both operational and safety requirements. A strong understanding of pump mechanics, API certifications, and troubleshooting expertise are key to success in this position.
Duties and Responsibilities:
API Standards & Compliance:
- Ensure all pump maintenance, repairs, and installations are conducted in compliance with API standards, particularly API 610 (pumps for the petroleum, petrochemical, and natural gas industries).
- Familiarity with various API pump types (e.g., centrifugal, positive displacement) and other associated equipment used in industrial settings.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of API specifications and ensure pump systems comply with industry regulations.
Pump Installation & Maintenance:- Install, assemble, and commission API-compliant pumps and systems, ensuring alignment with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic specifications.
- Conduct routine inspections, adjustments, and preventive maintenance to ensure pumps meet performance and operational standards.
- Lubricate and service pumps, motors, and related equipment, checking for wear and replacing parts as necessary.
Troubleshooting & Repair:- Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues with pumps and associated systems, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Identify failure points and provide solutions based on API standards to optimize pump performance.
- Replace worn or damaged pump components such as seals, bearings, and impellers in accordance with API recommendations.
Testing & Calibration:- Perform detailed testing and calibration of pumps, ensuring they operate within the required flow, pressure, and efficiency ranges.
- Use diagnostic tools and instruments to assess pump performance and ensure adherence to API standards.
Documentation & Reporting:- Maintain detailed records of maintenance work, repairs, and inspections in compliance with industry standards.
- Provide reports on pump performance, efficiency, and operational issues to supervisors and relevant departments.
- Assist in preparing maintenance plans for pumps and related systems, ensuring continuous performance.
Safety & Compliance:- Follow strict safety protocols in line with API safety standards and industry best practices.
- Ensure that all maintenance activities are carried out in a safe and efficient manner, utilizing the proper safety equipment and PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
- Inspect pumps and related equipment for safety risks, taking immediate action to address any issues.
Key Requirements:- Minimum of 5 years of experience working with pumps, particularly API-certified pumps and systems.
- In-depth knowledge of API 610 standards and other API specifications related to pumps and related equipment.
- Strong understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical principles related to pump systems.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools to troubleshoot and test pump systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and schematics.
- Knowledge of industrial maintenance practices and safety standards.
Qualifications:Package & Remuneration:- Will be agreed based on qualifications, applicable banking experience and previous earnings.
