Property Bookkeeper or Property Accountant

SUMMARY:
Our client a specialist in Corporate and Distribution (DC) properties is looking for a Property Bookkeeper or Property Accountant to join their dynamic team in Centurion.
 
Responsible for the property finance administration in the Properties Department and assisting in the coordination, implementation, and effective management of WAG Properties maintenance portfolio and system.

POSITION INFO:
Qualifications and required work experience:

• 3 Years experience in property administration or similar
• 3 Years experience as a Property Bookkeeper or Property Accountant
• Degree/ Certificate/ Diploma in Accounting
• Strong Excel skills
• Knowledge of MDA Property / MRI Property Central system is advantageous

• Maintain Tenant Age Analysis, and debt / rental collections
• Tenant liaison– information, queries, concerns
• Arrears reporting and all tenant billing
• Reconciliations – current and historical tenant transactions
• Reconciliations – current and historical tenant transactions
• Reconciliation & calculation of tenant deposit refunds
• Full Creditors function on MDA /MRI
• Deal with city council account queries
• Opening / closing municipal accounts
• Control and payment of prepaid electricity accounts via council portals
• Daily cashbook reconciliations
• Daily download bank statements from ABSA
• Daily upload bank statements to MDA/MRI
• Reconcile slips & process Directors credit card transactions in cashbook
• Processing bond accounts cashbook entries

• Responsible for co-ordination of tasks within the properties/ maintenance department
• Planning and implementation of maintenance schedules
• Processing, control and manage the full job card process on system
• Liaising with suppliers, service providers, contractors and subcontractors on various matters
• Dealing with city councils with queries and general matters
• Obtaining comparative quotes from different suppliers
• Responsible for conducting monthly property inspections – including tenant entrance and exit inspections
• Ensure high level service levels are maintained through liaising with customers, service providers and maintenance team
• Responsible for annual fire-equipment services, maintenance and maintaining fire equipment logbooks
• Ensure that the Health and Safety file is up to date for all sites/ properties where contract work is to be concluded by either own maintenance team and or contractors
• Responsible for maintaining properties documentation system
