Properties Engineer

SUMMARY:
Our client, a national manufacturing company, which is part of a larger Group listed on the JSE, seeks your Properties Engineering experience to:

1. Lead, organise, monitor and control Properties related projects.
2. Manage on behalf of the landlord all the company owned properties.
3. Lead and explore green technologies related to utilities and utilities management.

POSITION INFO:
Minimum Job Requirements:

• B.Sc in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Building Inspector/Property Management Certificate.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience within a similar role.

• Properties:
  • Manage the facilities function for the division.
  • Plan and control expenditure within properties budget.
  • Ensure that facilities meet all required internal and customer standards.
  • Ensure compliance to internal procurement and financial standards.
  • Manage and control the security function for the division.
• Energy Efficiency:
  • Develop and implement the Energy Efficiency Programme.
  • Plan, implement and monitor energy saving projects.
  • Remain abreast of current developments in the Energy Efficiency Industry and use of Green Technologies.
• Engineering:
  • Facilities and service engineering for the division.
  • Perform an engineering review service to production/maintenance.
  • Assist with Maintenance Engineering Methodology.
  • Ensure legal requirements and appointments are fulfilled.
• Staff Management:
  • Manage individual, team and departmental performance.
  • Manage contract suppliers.
  • Recruit employees in the area of responsibility.
  • Plan, organise and monitor.
  • Compile and update Performance Contracts and Individual Development Plans.
  • Facilitate individual career path planning.
  • Resolve disputes / grievances.
  • Conduct Performance reviews and manage substandard performance.
  • Coach and counsel to continually encourage improved performance levels.
