SUMMARY:
Leading international corrosion protection contractor and coatings manufacturer, has a vacancy for a Project Planner for a 6 month contract period.
The successful candidate must be able to start immediately.
No permanent employment is guaranteed after the project completion.
POSITION INFO:
Desired Requirements:
- Degree or National Diploma in Project Management.
- Proficient in Excel, Word, MS Projects and PowerPoint (as a minimum).
- Ability to read engineering drawings.
- Ability to do physical measurements and do required calculations.
- Valid and unendorsed driver’s licence.
Desired Experience:- At least 5 years' experience in project planning.
- Proficient in MS Project software.
- Grit blasting, heavy-duty coatings and corrosion protection experience will be an advantage.
- Heavy industrial site experience will be an advantage.
- Understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Good understanding of the Basic Conditions of Employment Act.
- Compilation of procedures, site/project plans and associated documentation.

Duties and responsibilities:- The ideal candidate will be a high performing Project Planner responsible for the following:
- Collaborate with the Project Manager and team to understand project objectives and requirements.
- Develop a comprehensive project plan, including scope, deliverables, tasks and timelines.
- Create detailed project schedules using MS Project software.
- Identify critical path activities and dependencies to optimise project timelines.
- Assess resource requirements and allocate personnel, equipment and materials for project tasks.
- Ensure optimal resource utilisation and avoid over-allocation.
- Continue monitoring project progress and performance against the established schedule.
- Identify potential delays or risks and implement corrective actions.
- Generate regular progress reports and present them to the project manager and team.
- Provide updates on project status, milestones and variances from the original plan.
- Assist in identifying potential risks and uncertainties that could impact project timelines.
- Collaborate with the project team to develop risk mitigation strategies.
- Manage changes to the project schedule resulting from scope changes or unforeseen events.
- Assess the impact of changes on project timelines and communicate adjustments to the team.
- Communicate with the project manager and team to ensure alignment with the project schedule.
