SUMMARY:
Our client, a major bank in South Africa is hiring a Project Methods, Standards, and Governance Specialist to help define and document how projects are delivered across Agile and traditional methodologies. In this key role, you’ll create clear journey maps, templates, and standards—supporting both Agile and Waterfall approaches, customised by project and programme complexity. Your work will strengthen the bank’s delivery framework, ensuring every project is well-structured, governed, and set up for success.

POSITION INFO:
Requirements

Relevant Degree or Higher Diploma
Project and Programme Management Certification
IT and Financial or Banking Industry experience essential
4-5 years’ experience within project environment in a similar role
Portfolio Management Certification (PfMP, SAFe) is advantageous

Duties and Responsibilities

Develop and implement right size governance frameworks, policies and procedures.
Create frameworks: Develop project and programme governance frameworks, rules and procedures for Agile as well as traditional projects and programmes based on complexity.
Develop and ensure compliance to project and progamme governance, standards and templates.
Conduct first level audits: Review and audit projects and programmes to assess compliance.
Provide guidance: Advise Project Managers and teams on compliance matters.
Stay current: Keep up with the latest governance best practices and guidelines.
Communicate: Share best practices and lessons learned with project and programme managers and collaborate with Finance.
Report: Monitor and report on governance metrics and KPIs.
Recommend improvements: Provide recommendations for improvements to governance processes.
