Project Manager - Events Industry

SUMMARY:
Do you have 4 - 5 years experience in the Events industry as a Project Manager, being a strategic thinker with hands-on experience in delivering high-impact events from conception to completion?

Based in Johannesburg, this role will require excellent financial acumen, a proven ability to manage event budgets, and the skills to oversee event execution and lead on-site teams effectively.

REQUIREMENTS

• Matric, with relevant qualifications – Advantageous
• Proven experience as a Project Manager in the events industry
• Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications
• Bilingual in English and Afrikaans
• Detailed knowledge and experience of delivering outdoor major events in e.g. sport, music, or similar sectors
• Excellent financial and commercial acumen
• Exceptional management and administration skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Excellent communication and inter-personal skills, being confident in liaising with all clients across all sectors
• A commitment to personal development and continual improvement, having a strong desire to undertake training & development
• A working knowledge, and personal commitment, to sustainability and environmental issues

• Reporting to the Managing Director
• Plan, execute, and oversee all aspects of event projects from initiation to delivery
• Develop and manage event budgets, ensuring cost-effective solutions without compromising quality
• Lead, motivate, and manage on-site teams during events and activations to ensure seamless execution
• Monitor project progress and adjust plans as necessary to meet changing demands
• Ensuring all client needs are met throughout the planning process, adapting to budgets without compromising event style or operational delivery
• Being an advocate and brand ambassador, developing strong positive relationships across all areas of the business and with clients and suppliers
• Responsible for the equipment and stock management
• Working alongside the technicians for the installations
• Inspection of sites where events will be hosted and design the layout of the site
• Problem solving where needed when on-site at an event
• Building and maintaining client/partner relationships, acting as the principal contact point for project development
• Project planning, logistical operations, overseeing of on-site project delivery
• Production of post-event reports and continual improvement plans
