Project Engineer

SUMMARY:
New Project Engineer position in the Logistics Department of Production, is available for our client in the Automotive Industry based in Kariega.

POSITION INFO:
Plan, prepare, and implement detailed logistics material flow concepts in production and warehouse environments, focusing on efficiency and optimization through advanced technological solutions.
Key Responsibilities:

• Design logistics material flow systems, layouts, and job specifications for facilities and services.
• Develop and procure logistics facilities like stillages, pallets, trolleys, racking, and packaging based on project or production requirements.
• Create and coordinate project plans, including monitoring and evaluating progress.
• Prepare requests for quotations, evaluate supplier bids, negotiate costs, and issue purchase requisitions.
• Conduct trials for facility/service acceptance and arrange handover.
• Draft and update packaging and logistics material handling specifications.
• Prepare budget pricing for investments, cost studies, localization, and export projects.
• Lead stakeholder meetings and ensure alignment on logistics initiatives.

• Degree or National Diploma in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Logistics.

• Minimum of 1 year of experiential training in a manufacturing environment.

• Passion for project management.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Self-motivated with minimal supervision and ability to work under pressure.
• Effective planning, organization, and decision-making skills to meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills.
• Proficiency in producing and interpreting 3D CAD drawings.
• Advanced computer literacy in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams, Outlook).
