Project Accountant, Contract, Gauteng

SUMMARY:
We are seeking a Project Accountant for a contract role, based in Rivonia, Gauteng.

POSITION INFO:
Applicants are required to meet the following criteria:

• National Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Admin or Bookkeeping
• Must have professional qualification such as ACCA, CIMA / SAICA
• 5+ years working experience in a computerized accounting environment
• 3+ years working experience in an NGO in a similar role will be advantageous
• Extensive knowledge of Sage Evolution

• Review cashbook and conduct balance sheet recons
• Creditors recons and checking of GL accounts
• Reconcile balance sheet and assist FM with audit preparations
• Accounts receivable – produce invoices and check charge out; checking of timesheets
• Payment verification – ensure allocations are correct; ensure correct supporting documentation; ensure payments are made for correct project bank account
• Financial forecasting – weekly cash forecasts; verify and evaluate cash projections
• Compliance and reporting – monthly/quarterly finance reports; ensure reports are correct and well presented; assists FM with year-end financial report preparation
• Training / filing – training staff; ensure proper filing/archiving; train teams on donor financial management rules
• Maintain project related records and authorize the transfer of expenses
• Investigate all project expenses, project variances and submit variance reports to management
