POSITION INFO:
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND COMPETENCIES:
· The appropriate qualification for the Professor and Chair is a relevant Doctoral Degree, in Human Rights Law with academic experience;
· A proven research record supported by publications in accredited Journals;
· A strong postgraduate supervision record;
· Ability to teach students from different academic disciplines;
· Possession of professional experience gained from working in a human rights institution or related environment;
· At least 5 to 10 years’ experience in teaching human rights or undertaking research in related area.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
· Successful candidate will be required to provide Strategic leadership to the Centre;
· Teaching, Learning and assessment of postgraduate students;
· Assist with preparation of new programmes for approval and accreditation by relevant bodies in the country within a problem based and case based teaching environment;
· Participate in collaborative research projects locally and internationally;
· Supervise postgraduate students research projects;
· Integrate research in communities;
· Ensure good relations with stakeholders, and
· Represent the institute at University level committees
