POSITION INFO:
Specialist Minimum Requirements:
- M.Tech/B.Tech in Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 8 to 10 years experience in the Chemical and Process industry (non-neg).
- Robust manufacturing experience essential.
- Basic knowledge on Lean & Six Sigma.
- Conversant with S&OP (Sales and Operational Planning) processes.
- Experience in handling a unionised workforce an added advantage.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities of the Position:- Manage and direct plant operations for production.
- Co-ordinate plant activities with other Functional Heads to ensure manufacturing objectives.
- Implement cost-effective systems to control operating expenditures, manpower, overtime and ensure healthy industrial relations at shop floor.
- Improve profitability by yield improvement, energy conservation, process time cycle reduction.
- Responsible for driving 5S, and continuous improvement projects.
- Establish and monitor overall plant performance for production as per quality standards.
- Maintain existing plant facilities and equipment.
- Provide leadership and training to accomplish the company goals and objectives.
- Responsible for on time delivery of product at optimal cost and pre-defined quality.
- Maintain safe practices, implement QMS, EMS and OHSAS at factory.
- Ensure the standard operating procedures are available at all processes and are followed by maintaining safe practices at plant.
- Ensure the interest, training & motivation of the team should be maintained.
- Run the cost saving projects effectively.
- Comply with Internal, External & Group Global audit requirements.
- Comply with safety measures at shop floor.
- Plan, co-ordinate and control the maintenance of the plant.
- Participate in the preparation of the annual maintenance and projects.
- Develop plans for each area of maintenance and engineering and the various stages.
- Ensure that all maintenance project work in the plants is carried out and completed to the highest level of trade-man quality.
- Manage outside maintenance contractors to ensure the integrity of the maintenance team.
- Complete repairs to various plant equipment.
- Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of machinery to ensure ongoing operations of a facility – General plant maintenance.
- Respond to emergency breakdowns and repairs.
- General machining work.
- Preventative maintenance and fault-finding on equipment.
- Operate a forklift as applicable.
- Assist in monthly stock take processes, and inventory counts.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations.
- General housekeeping activities and/or assistance when required in additional production / manufacturing departments.
