Main Objective
To develop a sound manufacturing and operational strategy and system that plans, schedules, coordinates and monitors the flow of manufacturing jobs, projects and material through the complete manufacturing and project cycle, with measurable objectives. It requires a large focus on on-time delivery, production efficiency and reporting to improve internal control and establish proactive solutions that ultimately relate to both internal and external stakeholder satisfaction and business sustainability.

Reporting Line: Procurement and Operations Manager
Main Responsibilities- Serves as a primary point of contact for and liaison with sales, engineering, manufacturing, and logistics
- Schedule demand based on the product mix and provide accurate lead times to sales department
- Work with the operations management in coordinating and planning production activities to improve production times.
- Schedule and determine available capacity before planned orders are released
- Releasing manufacturing work Executing daily, plant-level materials requirement planning (MRP) to create and manage production.
- Meeting the production delivery schedules
- Plan design and production tasks and schedules according to customer orders as issued by the product sales department
- Develop and review production plan with the Procurement & Operations Manager for final approval
- Confers with other stakeholders to determine status of assigned projects
- Monitor the execution of the production plan and resolve any potential issues in a timely fashion
- Escalate complex issues to the Procurement & Operations Manager for resolution
- Investigate production problems, analyses root causes and provide solutions. Address issues when they arise aiming for minimum disruption.
- Communicate production status to the Procurement & Operations Manager and other stakeholders on a regular basis.
- Analyze back orders, current orders and upcoming orders to prioritize, plan, and schedule the production operations
- In conjunction with the Stores Supervisor & Production Supervisors, plan equipment, material and manpower requirements to execute job orders
- Coordinate with the Engineering department in planning and implementing engineering changes in production lines
- Participate in periodic forecast meetings with sales and other related departments
- Lead weekly planning meetings with sales, purchasing, production and engineering
- Coordinate with the stores & procurement to plan inventory management processes to avoid shortages and excesses
- Collaborate with quality control, factory and other departments as required
- Adhere to company standards and production policies to meet company objectives
- Analyze delays and interruptions and accordingly adjust production schedule to meet deadlines
- Maintain reports for production planning activities and sequences
SHEQ Management (ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001)- Responsible for adhering to the requirements of abovementioned systems as directed by the SHEQ Management System (which includes relevant legislation, Policies, Procedures, Work Instructions, specifications, etc.)
- Ensure that Quality Assurance is confirmed in every aspect, especially in the area of documentation control
- Ensures compliance with all standards for Safety, Environmental, Work Procedures, Quality including quality risks
- Assurance and Quality Control systems as adopted by the Static Power division
Minimum qualifications, skills and experience
- Tertiary qualification in Operations I Production / Industrial management, or Engineering Diploma
- At least 5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment
- Proven experience using production planning systems and software
- Experience in MRP (Material Resource Planning).
- Thorough understanding of operations and supply chain logistics
- Working knowledge of Syspro would be an advantage
- Strong computer skills (MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Projects, other)
