A leading steel manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Production Manager to oversee production operations, ensure process efficiency, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. This role offers a dynamic leadership opportunity to manage a high-performance production team and ensure operational excellence in a world-class industrial environment.

Requirements:

• B-Degree (NQF 8/10) in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial preferred)
• Management Development Program (Advantageous)
• Proven expertise in both production and maintenance functions
• Experience in leading lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives
• 6+ years of experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment
• 3 years' experience in a managerial role

Key Responsibilities:

• Production Management: Oversee daily production operations, ensuring adherence to schedules, targets, and quality standards
• Safety & Compliance: Ensure full compliance with safety regulations and promote a zero-harm culture
• Team Leadership: Lead, develop, and motivate production staff to achieve optimal performance
• Continuous Improvement: Drive lean manufacturing practices to enhance efficiency and reduce waste
• Quality Control & Assurance: Coordinate with quality control teams to maintain product excellence
• Cross-Functional Coordination: Work closely with maintenance, supply chain, and logistics to ensure seamless operations
• Production Reporting & KPIs: Monitor key performance metrics and present insights to senior management
• Budget & Cost Control: Manage production budgets, ensuring cost-effective operations
• Problem-Solving & Downtime Management: Address production challenges proactively and implement solutions to minimize disruptions.
