SUMMARY:
Production Manager
Our client, a distillery, based in, Somerset West, Cape Town is currently recruiting for a Production Manager. The Production Manager will be responsible for overseeing daily production activities, ensuring adherence to quality standards, and leading the production team to meet strategic goals. This role involves executing the production plan efficiently, training staff, and maintaining consistent delivery within the set timelines.

Minimum Requirements:
- Essential: Matric.
- Beneficial: Tertiary Qualification.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Manufacturing.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
Roles and Responsibilities:- Ensure the consistent quality of products delivered to customers in collaboration with the QA department.
- Research and identify growth opportunities for new customer projects.
- Assist with hiring and talent development programs within the production department.
- Support QMS training provided by the QMS coordinator for your team.
- Assist in employee development programs to achieve targeted department goals.
- Ensure staff productivity, motivation, and professional development.
- Provide ongoing support to production staff and address their needs to maintain a smooth production process.
- Oversee the general satisfaction and overall production within the factory.
- Help with recruitment and training of new production department employees.
- Support the employee assessment process to maintain team performance.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and implement them in your department.
- Lead toolbox talks and maintain records of all safety discussions.
- Ensure adherence to ISO systems and standards within the department, and report any deviations using the non-conformance system.
- Utilise tools such as Asana, Wiki, Teams, and Katana to manage workflows and improve efficiency.
- Ensure the production of ready-to-drink products on both 275ml and 440ml lines is executed according to the production plan.
- Oversee the 750ml production line, following the dispatch list to ensure timely deliveries.
- Manage and guide production staff, aligning planning and goals to meet targets.
- Report daily on production results, close jobs, and maintain accurate production records.
- Monitor stock levels and conduct regular stock checks, ensuring they are signed off.
- Manage external warehouse operations, scheduling stock checks and addressing any discrepancies with credited sales orders.
- Support the overall delivery of high-quality products by following procedures and processes.
- Contribute to the company’s ISO development and help maintain ISO standards.
- Assist with internal departmental audits and annual ISO audits as needed.
- Engage with key customers to ensure satisfaction and address targeted customer activities.
