POSITION INFO:
Oversee the entire milling process, including raw material intake, conditioning, maintenance, and final product quality
Achieve key technical targets such as milling tons, extraction rates, hygiene, downtime management, and efficiency of drying and grinding systems
Ensure consistent product quality, verify raw material grading, and meet customer specifications while preventing environmental impact
Conduct daily milling meetings, track production summaries, reconcile milled tons, and optimize plant capacity
Handle performance, training, discipline, scheduling, shifts, leave, and overtime for mill employees
Maintain raw material availability, allocate bin stocks efficiently, and support the packing department
Track and schedule equipment maintenance, ensure scales are calibrated, and control pests to meet operational standards. a key requirement
Skills & Experience:
Minimum 10+ years as a Production/Milling Manager leading teams of 30 or mor members
At least 5 years in food safety (HACCP, ISO, FSSC)
Experience or training in people management, industrial relations, and performance management
Basic mechanical knowledge (sifters, roll changes, V-belts); Dryer/Heater Bank System training
Fumigation (PCO course), raw material grading, OHS/safety rep (First Aid/Fire Fighting), and forklift license
Qualification:
GMF Modules with practical test passed
Higher education (postgraduate certificate/degree) advantageous
Valid driver's license
Only South African Residents or individuals with a relevant South African work permit will be considered.
