Product Marketer

SUMMARY:
New role is available for a Product Marketer in the Brand Department for our client in the Automotive Industry. The role will be based in Sandton.

POSITION INFO:
The Product Marketer will be responsible for supporting the development of strategic product plans which the competitive advantage of the Group's passenger vehicle brand and secure the planned volumes and market share, coordination of product specification through the system development process to ensure that local and FBU vehicles are correctly positioned.

Duties:

• Conduct market and competitor analysis to assess implications for the brand.
• Develop strategic product plans to meet customer needs and brand objectives (volume/share).
• Present product plans for approval in various forums (e.g., PMM, Product Teams).
• Gather feedback from marketing and cross-divisional teams prior to finalizing product plans.
• Act as the marketing representative in cross-divisional project team meetings for product plan implementation.
• Create passenger vehicle specification and ordering guides for the vehicle ordering system.
• Coordinate meetings and negotiate product plans with the dealer council.
• Develop product bulletins for the dealer organization regarding product innovations or changes.
• Approve point of sales material for accuracy in product specification, including web content.
• Plan and implement feasibility studies for potential vehicle models to be imported into South Africa.
• Manage planning and implementation of all passenger FBU models using the Group MBV system.
• Maintain the Group MBV system for accurate vehicle specifications.
• Distribute vehicle specification information highlighting key differences/similarities to competitors.
• Coordinate and facilitate the launch management process to ensure compliance and updates across the organization.

• A formal 3-year Bachelor’s degree/National Diploma from a recognised tertiary institution, preferably in Commerce/ Business Science/ Engineering.

• Minimum of 3 years product planning experience (Previous product planning experience in automotive industry will be ideal).
• ​​​​​​​or 3 years ‘experience in sales forecasting/ market research/brand management/engineering in the automotive industry.
