Product Manager Crop Protection

SUMMARY:

A global leader in the agricultural distribution chain is seeking the above to conduct research and to inform product strategies, create and manage a detailed roadmap, collaborate with cross-functional teams, oversee product development, and provide support materials, all while continuously monitoring performance to drive enhancements.

POSITION INFO:

Minimum requirements for the role:

• Must have a Master's degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, or a related field
• Proven experience as a Product Manager in the field of plant protection is essential
• Must have a deep understanding of plant crop protection
• Experience in a multicultural or international company is highly advantageous
• Strong project management, organizational, problem-solving and analytical skills will be required
• Effective communication and teamwork skills are important
• Must be proficient in relevant tools and software for product management and agriculture (e.g., farm management software, agronomic tools)
• Highly organized and able to manage confidential information discreetly
• Fluency in English and knowledge of French and Afrikaans is advantageous

• Conducting thorough research to understand agricultural trends, customer needs, and the competitive landscape to inform product development strategies.
• Creating and maintaining a detailed product roadmap, setting key features, prioritizing tasks, and establishing clear milestones for development and launch.
• Working closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, regulatory, marketing, and customer support, to ensure successful product knowledge dissemination.
• Collaborating with agronomists, farmers, and internal stakeholders to gather and prioritize product requirements, ensuring alignment with market needs.
• Overseeing product development, from screening and registration trials to ensuring products meet the needs of farmers and coordinating with the project team to meet timelines and objectives.
• Providing technical content, trial summaries, product training materials, and marketing support to facilitate successful product launches.
• Continuously monitoring product performance, gathering user feedback, and analyzing metrics to make informed decisions for product enhancements.
