Product Engineer (Jigs, Fixtures and Metrology)

SUMMARY:
New vacancy available for a Product Engineer (Jigs, Fixtures and Metrology) for a +/- 2-year contract in the Production Department of our client in the Automotive Industry, based in Kariega.

POSITION INFO:
Our client is seeking to employ a Product Engineer for a +/- 2-year contract for a new Project Launching soon. The ideal candidate will have good experience with vehicle production/assembly with a qualification/experience in Jigs, Fixtures or Metrology.

• Assisting supporting departments in pre-series build
• Supporting launch team with facility functionality, dimensional milestones, Meisterbock acceptance, surface quality improvements, corrosion milestones and supporting series Production and Quality in achieving quality targets (Dimensional targets /Functional/ Stability / BIW audits / Final Vehicle audit/DRR/ Flow-out) Fitment trials, problem detections and resolution.
• Investigating build / audit related problems (root cause analysis, establishment and implementation of corrective actions).
• Assisting Process Engineer and CFT leader in designing and implementing new/modified facilities or gauges to improve the building process.
• Providing feedback in the form of written and visual presentations on corrective actions at Management Reviews
• Managing of problem sheets (Raising, follow up and closure of problem sheets)
• Ensuring Stability of assemblies and coordinating the non-conformities found with relevant parties (Parts, Facilities and Process)

• Extensive knowledge and experience of the Vehicle Building/Production process
• National N Diploma/National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering/Metrology
• Toolmaker qualification/Trade (Tool-, Jig-, and Die)
• 3-5 years' experience in Jigs and Fixtures or 3-5 years' experience in Measuring Jigs and Fixtures
• Technical problem solving of the build and assembly of vehicles
• Experience in facility installation and measurements
• Familiar with technical drawings
• Good communication skills and report writing, presentations etc
• Be willing to work overtime
• CAD, CATIA, Hyper KVS
