About the role:

The Procurement Intern will assist in sourcing, purchasing, and managing materials and supplies for the
manufacturing process. This role provides hands-on experience in supply chain management, vendor
negotiations, and procurement strategies while ensuring cost-effectiveness and efficiency in sourcing operations.

Responsibilities:
Procurement & Sourcing

• Assist in sourcing suppliers and obtaining quotations for raw materials and components.
• Compare supplier pricing, quality, and delivery timelines to ensure the best value.
• Support negotiations with vendors to secure favorable terms and conditions.
• Maintain an up-to-date database of suppliers and pricing information.
• Purchase Order & Inventory Management
• Assist in preparing and processing purchase orders.
• Track and monitor order deliveries to ensure timely receipt of goods.
• Assist in stock level analysis to prevent shortages and overstocking.
• Conduct periodic inventory checks and report discrepancies.

• Communicate with suppliers to confirm order details, delivery schedules, and potential issues.
• Assist in evaluating supplier performance based on quality, pricing, and reliability.
• Help maintain long-term relationships with key suppliers.
• Ensure all procurement processes comply with company policies and industry regulations.
• Maintain proper documentation of purchase records, invoices, and supplier agreements.
• Assist in compiling procurement reports for management review.

• Help analyze procurement expenses and suggest cost-saving measures.
• Assist in budget planning by forecasting material costs.
• Identify opportunities to optimize procurement spending.
• Research and suggest improvements in procurement workflows.
• Assist in digitalizing procurement records for better efficiency.
• Stay updated on industry trends and new suppliers.

• Practical experience in procurement and supply chain processes.
• Knowledge of supplier negotiations and contract management.
• Hands-on exposure to procurement systems and inventory management.
• Analytical skills in cost-saving and budgeting strategies.
• Industry knowledge specific to thermal manufacturing and insulation materials.

• The Procurement Intern will work closely with various departments, including production, finance, and logistics.
• The role may involve occasional supplier site visits for better understanding of sourcing processes.
• Opportunities for full-time employment may be available based on performance and business needs.

• South African Unemployed youth between the ages of 18 and 34.
• Must not have participated on the programme before.
• Diploma or Degree in Logistics or Supply Chain, Accounting, or related field.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial software (advantageous).
• Good organizational and time management skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to work with financial data accurately.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
• Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced work environment.
