SUMMARY:
Our global client is currently seeking a Procurement Supervisor - Mining to lead and manage procurement operations within the mining industry. The successful candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of mining industry procurement practices, and the ability to drive cost-effective and efficient procurement strategies.
POSITION INFO:
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Commerce, Economic or Supply Chain Management.
- Project Management qualification.
- CIPS Qualification preferable.
- Valid Driver’s License.
Experience:- Minimum 10 years’ experience in the Mining Industry is preferable.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as Procurement Superintendent or similar role.
- Extensive experience in implementing Supply Chain Local and BEE procurement transformation within a corporate environment.
- Experience in contract management and commercial negotiation is preferable.
- Experience in Team Management or leading projects.
Responsibilities:
Provide the Company with guidance and have an in-depth knowledge of public legislation and policy and lead the legislative mining charter audits and reporting.

Lead the tendering / sourcing process, ensuring that the tender procedure is transparent and compliant, and guaranteeing that RFQs/RFIs/RFPs are sent to vendors with a good reputation and strong performance capabilities.
Implement the company’s purchasing policy and ensure the sourcing and contract award is compliant and transparent.
Provide constructive involvement in the procure to pay process, monitor the procedures from RFQ, Sourcing, Adjudication, Contract Award, Contracting, Delivery / Invoice Payment.
Assist senior management with the preparation and execution of pre-award and post-award activities, including evaluation & adjudication.
Supervise warehouse/stores management, ensuring accuracy of goods receipt and issue, and guarantee the timeliness of data entry into SAP system.
Oversee the procurement budget and planning, ensuring optimal allocation of resources and cost control. Analyse and report on procurement expenditures, identifying opportunities for savings and efficiency improvements.
Maintain productive relationships with both local and international suppliers. Evaluate and monitor supplier performance against contracts to ensure compliance, quality standards, and continuous improvement in service and product delivery.

- Create employee schedules, assigning schedules and responsibilities to employees, checking to see if these responsibilities and assignments are completed effectively.
- Identify deviations or non-conformances, plan and implementing corrective actions to ensure attainment of the department plan.
