Procurement Officer

SUMMARY:
Our client in the ICT & telecoms industry nationally is looking to appoint an experienced technical buyer at its Johannesburg branch to acquire goods, services and materials for its central operations and branches. The successful incumbent will have a proven track record of negotiation and having achieved organisational budgets.

POSITION INFO:
Job Duties:
Supplier Selection and Relationship Management:

• Request quotations and process purchase orders received from suppliers telephonically or emailed according to procedures.
• Local Purchasing for stock and buy out items.
• Identify, research and resolve supplier issues.
• Follow up on outstanding orders.
• Have good knowledge of your suppliers and competitors.
• Sourcing new products and new suppliers for buyouts items on client’s requests.
• Manage supplier performance to ensure quality and lead times are met.
• Managing Call off orders/procedures.

• Monitor zero, low and non-stock items for pricing and buying when necessary for sales orders and stock levels.
• Liaise with support dispatch department and supervisor regarding dispatching, receiving instructions e.g. delivery, collect, courier etc.
• Liaise with and support purchasing department regarding nonstock items for pricing and buying when necessary for sales orders.
• Assist and support accounts department when new accounts/ applications, accounts on hold and accounts over credit limit.
• Requesting updated pricelists from Suppliers when required.
• Updating Green sheet daily.
• Processing Courier Feeds & Buy out feeds.
• Conduct stock adjustments when required.
• Complete buy out costing and procurement support.
• Request for quotes (RFQ)
• Monitor outstanding backorders
• After sales services for repairs & maintenance on test equipment
• Process RMAs to suppliers

• Support branch during stock take month.
• Monitoring stock levels to meet supply and demand & to avoid stock outs.
• Monitor Margins for orders.
• Updating Monthly averages on inventory replenishment sheet based on inventory valuation.
• Final Item Report (Monthly)
• Support slow moving stock reduction initiatives.

• Keep proper record of all pricing requests and feedback.
• Attend sales meetings and training sessions when required.
• Complete any procurement related reports as requested by company.
• Assist with procurement planning for BEE requirements.
• Provide sales staff with product and service information and support when required.

• Degree in Procurement or Supply Chain Management.
• 3 years of experience as a senior technical buyer.
• ICT /Telecoms industry experience essential
• Registration with a professional procurement body
