Procurement Officer

SUMMARY:
To replenish stock and general procurement including sourcing of stock items.

POSITION INFO:
Qualifications and experience:

• Grade 12 or equivalent
• Minimum 4 years in the procurement of electronic products
• SYSPRO Accounting and manufacturing software will be an advantage

• Generate Material Requirements Planner which includes consumables on a daily basis to place purchase orders to suppliers.
• Follow up on purchase orders list can be attached to latest purchase order email to assist in getting supplier to follow up all outstanding orders and prevent missed/incorrect orders.
• Discussions with suppliers on new product lines, source alternative suppliers.
• Maintenance of all supplier account details like credit limits, change of email addresses and contact people i.e.: keeping supplier information up to date.
• Place purchase orders for all items from shop orders/sales orders received from production.
• Check stock levels and ranges with Stores Administrator on a regular basis to make sure stock on system and physical stock matches and place orders where necessary.
• Create new inventory codes for GL purchased items.
• Source suppliers for obsolete items in discussion with EPS and Production Procurement Commenting channel on Microsoft Teams.
• Arrange and plan drivers schedule for collections from suppliers or special deliveries.
• The duties listed here are part of the overlap that the Procurement Officer shares with the Stores Administrator and the Receiving and Dispatch Clerk when necessary:
• Assist with Export shipments when needed
• Assist with picking shop orders and sales orders and issuing/transfers on the system
• Assist with packaging for collection or delivery of invoiced items
• There will be an overlapping of duties especially when a member of the team is absent / leave for an extended period of time.
• You have a responsibility to ensure you understand the duties you will be responsible for while filling in for the absent person
• Be able to perform tasks that may fall outside of the main duties and responsibilities of this job description.
• Attend training that may be needed to perform this particular job description.
• Willingness to work overtime.
• Willingness to travel for work purposes should it be required.
