POSITION INFO:
ESSENTIAL SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
· Experience working with PostgreSQL in both on- premises and in the cloud environments to build a data base access monitoring solution for PostgreSQL data bases
· In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, including installation, configuration, and performance tuning.
· Strong understanding of PostgreSQL architecture, query optimization, and database administration and built in functions.
· Database security knowledge.
· Knowledge about cloud technologies.
· Familiarity with security auditing frameworks and best practices.
· Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
· Basic experience with Linux - installation and operations processes.
o Linux Shell Scripting
o VI skills
· Experience with administrating Java Web-Applications.
· Scripting and use of XMLAPI functions.
· Experience in developing process flows.
· Any additional responsibilities assigned in the Agile Working Model (AWM) Charter

ADVANTAGEOUS SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
· ITIL certification is advantageous.
· Basic experience with SPLUNK is helpful.
· Work experience with database auditing, logging and monitoring.
· Written and oral communication and presentation skills.
· Knowledge of data modelling and data visualisation tools.
· Cloud Experience: Familiarity with cloud platforms like Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Understanding of cloud-based database services, such as Amazon RDS for PostgreSQL or Azure Database for PostgreSQL, and the ability to leverage cloud-specific features for managing database access.

WHICH QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE DO WE NEED FOR THE ROLE?
BA/BS Degree, preferably in Information Technology, Engineering or related discipline or the equivalent of 4 years of related professional experience. 3 Years plus in a Mid to Senior role, more than 6 year plus total experience required.
WHAT WILL BE YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES?
As a PostgreSQL expert specialized in database access monitoring and security auditing, your primary responsibility will be to design and build a robust and efficient database monitoring solution. You will work both on-premises and in the cloud solutions to ensure the security and integrity of the PostgreSQL databases.
You will conduct with the feature team members, system analysis, design, development and testing for their assigned technical products or applications within the context of an agile/DevOps delivery model.
Implement robust automated test cases to ensure technical solutions meet expected outcomes and business objectives.
Prepare and document standard operating procedures and protocols as well as required system documentation
Support operational excellence goals through strong operations knowledge. Resolve escalated support topics to ensure the highest availability of critical applications.
Plan and execute upgrade of existing applications, tools, and features. Create solutions and solve problems.
Design, develop, update and maintain (operate) the new DAM solution for the PostgreSQL
· Support updates of DAM Tool on all relevant PostgreSQL DB-Servers in close cooperation with PostgreSQL team
· Test new software versions and functionality before roll out in the INT environment and PROD environment.
· Configure DAM software according to BMW requirements
· Conduct functionality tests and performance tests after roll out
· understand and adapt (if needed) roll out process and change process
· Preparation and adoption of system/technical documentation according to present settings
Operate DAM Tool in a 24 x 7 manner
· Monitor functionality of DAM Components
· Make sure that the generated data is delivered to SPLUNK on a regular defined base
· Assure high availability and continuous functionality of DAM
· Prevent instabilities caused by DAM on PostgreSQL
· Make sure that defined PostgreSQL data bases are monitored
· tight communication and cooperation with relevant interface partners
· Assist data base operations team + application teams with DAM related enquires/problems.
Engage with support providers regarding PostgeSQL operational topics and oversee all planned and ongoing tasks and activities that could have an influence / impact on the DAM Tool.

• Make sure that DAM does not interfere with Data base functionality

Engage with software providers if necessary
· to follow up the status of all open service requests, bugs and product enhancement requests opened by BMW at least on a quarterly base

Build a cloud solution for Data Base Activity monitoring
· Get known to different cloud technologies in specific PostgreQSL cloud solutions
