Plant Tissue Culture Technician

SUMMARY:

A large vegetable farmer in Minnesota in the USA, is seeking an experienced laboratory and greenhouse technician, with tissue culture experience, to fill an H2A visa program contract position.

POSITION INFO:

Minimum requirements for the role:

• Must have a relevant tertiary qualification in Horticulture, Microbiology, Biotechnology etc.
• Willing to live and work in the USA for 9 months a year
• Previous experience in a tissue culture laboratory is essential
• Must have experience in greenhouse crops
• Experience with potatoes is advantageous

• Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the tissue culture laboratory.
• Planning and executing mass scale tissue culture production for potatoes and greenhouse vegetables.
• Designing and conducting experiments involving plant tissue culture— initiation, upscaling, mass production, de-flasking, growing, and acclimatization.
