Plant Operator (x4)

POSITION INFO:

Afrigen is seeking to recruit four (4) skilled Plant Operators to ensure continuous operation and monitoring of critical plant systems. This role is essential to maintaining smooth facility operations, regulatory compliance, and emergency response readiness.

Key Responsibilities:

• Building Management Room Monitoring: Conducting CCTV surveillance of production areas, QC laboratories, storerooms, and utility areas to ensure security and operational compliance.
• BMS Operation: Operating and managing the Building Management System (BMS) hosted on the SCADA system.
• Utility System Operation: Managing and monitoring the operation of critical facility systems, including HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning), Water for Injection (WFI), Steam Plant, Compressed Air and Gases Plant and Fire Detection System.
• Physical Inspections: Conducting regular walk-throughs of plant areas to ensure all equipment and systems are operating within specifications.
• Cleanroom Compliance: Ensuring adherence to cleanroom behaviour protocols and responding to facility emergencies as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Strong technical aptitude and ability to learn and operate automated systems.
• Previous experience with SCADA, BMS, and utility operations is an advantage.
• High attention to detail and the ability to respond effectively to emergencies.

Training Requirements:

• Selected candidates will be trained in BMS & SCADA operation, CCTV monitoring, utility system management (HVAC, WFI, steam, compressed air & gases, fire detection), and cleanroom compliance.
