Our client in the Petrochemical industry is seeking to employ a Pipe Fitter Supervisor to join their team. Please note that this is a (fixed term contract).

Duties & Responsibilities
Supervision and Team Leadership

• Oversee and manage pipefitting teams during installation, maintenance and repair of piping systems.
• Assign tasks and ensure that pipefitters adhere to schedules and deadlines.
• Provide guidance, training and mentorship to team members to enhance skill levels and ensure safe work practices.

• Collaborate with project engineers, planners and other supervisors to plan and execute pipefitting activities.
• Interpret and review project blueprints, isometric drawings and technical documents to ensure proper implementation.
• Estimate manpower, tools and materials required for pipefitting tasks.
• Coordinate with other trades (e.g. welders, scaffolders and electricians) to ensure smooth execution of multi-disciplinary projects.

• Enforce compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards and policies, including hazard identification and risk mitigation.
• Conduct safety briefings, toolbox talks, and regular inspections to ensure a safe working environment.
• Ensure all pipefitting activities comply with industry codes, standards (e.g. ASME, ANSI) and petrochemical regulations.

• Monitor the quality of work to ensure all piping systems are installed according to specifications and industry standards.
• Perform inspections and tests such as hydrostatic testing, pneumatic testing and visual inspections.
• Ensure proper handling, storage and installation of materials to prevent damage and contamination.

• Identify and resolve technical issues and discrepancies during installation or maintenance activities.
• Collaborate with engineers to develop and implement corrective actions for pipe system failures.

• Maintain records of work progress, resource usage, and incidents for reporting to project managers and stakeholders.
• Prepare and submit daily, weekly and monthly progress reports.
• Document and maintain material certifications, testing results and inspection reports for audits.

• Ensure proper utilisation, maintenance and storage of tools, equipment and machinery used in pipefitting.
• Verify materials and tools meet project specifications and are available when required.
• Coordinate material delivery and storage to avoid project delays.

• Stay updated on the latest pipefitting techniques, tools and materials relevant to the petrochemical industry.
• Identify areas for process improvement to enhance efficiency and productivity.
• Provide feedback to management on design improvements or system modifications for better operational efficiency.

• Be prepared to act quickly during system failures, leaks or safety incidents to minimise downtime and risks.
• Coordinate with emergency response teams to implement containment or corrective measures effectively.

• 3 to 5 years’ experience.
