Payroll Specialist

POSITION INFO:
My client is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Payroll Officer to manage and oversee their payroll functions, ensuring accurate and timely salary processing and compliance with statutory regulations.

This role is based in Waterkloof Glen, Pretoria East.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monthly Salary Processing: Manage and administer the full payroll function, ensuring accurate and timely processing of salaries on PaySpace.
• Employee Data Management: Review and capture all required documentation, including contracts for new hires, onto the payroll system and ensure the proper filing of physical employee records.
• Onboarding: Facilitate the onboarding process for new employees, including issuing employment contracts.
• Compliance and Reporting: Stay up-to-date with payroll systems, legislative changes, and industry trends.
• Internal Reporting: Prepare and distribute accurate internal payroll reports as required.
• Injury on Duty (IOD) Management: Facilitate and manage all injury-on-duty cases, ensuring compliance with regulations.
• Audit Support: Assist Auditors by preparing necessary documentation and facilitating payroll-related audits.
• Statutory Reporting: Prepare and submit all required statutory reports, including:
  
  • EMP201 & EMP501 submissions
  • Employment Equity reports
  • Skills Development submissions
  • Workman’s Compensation Fund returns
• Employee Tax Certificates: Issue tax certificates to employees and ensure compliance with tax regulations.

• Relevant Payroll qualifications.
• 5 years proven experience as a Payroll Officer or in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of PaySpace (Non-Negotiable).
• Excellent understanding of statutory reporting and tax compliance.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
