Paralegal / Junior Legal Advisor

SUMMARY:
Job Overview:
The Paralegal / Junior Legal Advisor provides legal support to the organization's legal department, ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies. The role involves conducting legal research, drafting legal documents, reviewing contracts, and assisting with case management and administrative legal functions.
 
Key Responsibilities:

Legal Research & Analysis:

• Conduct research on legal issues, case law, statutes, and regulations.
• Summarize findings and provide recommendations to senior legal personnel.

• Prepare, review, and proofread legal documents, including contracts, agreements, and policies.
• Assist in drafting correspondence, reports, and legal opinions.

• Support the legal team in reviewing and negotiating contracts.
• Maintain an organized database of contracts and legal documents.

• Ensure compliance with local laws, industry regulations, and company policies.
• Assist in updating compliance policies and procedures.

• Support the legal team in preparing case files and legal submissions.
• Liaise with external legal counsel, courts, and regulatory authorities when necessary.

• Maintain and organize legal files and records.
• Coordinate meetings, hearings, and legal proceedings.

• Strong knowledge of legal principles and procedures.
• Excellent legal research and analytical skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Proficiency in legal software and Microsoft Office Suite.

• Diploma or Degree in Law, Paralegal Studies, or a related field.
• 1-3 years of experience in a legal or paralegal role (preferred).
• Exposure to contract law, corporate law, or compliance regulations is advantageous.
• Experience working in a corporate legal department or law firm is an added advantage.

• Office-based role with occasional travel for court filings or client meetings (if applicable).
• May be required to work extended hours to meet deadlines.

Pay: R16 000.00 - R25 000.00
Schedule: Monday – Friday
08:00 – 17:00
