The Royal Portfolio's head office team is seeking a talented and dynamic PR Specialist from within in the Hospitality industry, to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for luxury hospitality, exceptional communication skills, and a proven track record in the role, and a love of writing. This individual will be responsible for executing strategic PR initiatives to enhance the reputation and visibility of our group.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and implement comprehensive PR campaigns to promote the hotel group's brand image, key messages, and unique offerings.
• Cultivate and maintain relationships with media outlets, journalists, influencers and key stakeholders to secure positive press coverage and media placements.
• Create compelling press releases, media kits and other written materials to communicate key announcements, events and initiatives.
• Co-ordinate press visits, media events and fam trips to showcase our properties and cultivate positive relationships with media representatives.
• Monitor media coverage and industry trends, providing regular reports and insights to senior management to inform PR strategy and decision-making.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Sales and Events teams to align PR efforts with overall business objectives and promotional activities.
• Serve as a Brand Ambassador and spokesperson for The Royal Portfolio, representing our values and standards in all communications and interactions.
• Respond promptly and professionally to media inquiries, interview requests and crisis communications situations as needed, including the drafting of crisis holding statements and the distribution thereof to relevant stakeholders.
• Stay up-to-date with industry best practices, emerging trends and innovative PR techniques to continuously enhance the effectiveness of our PR efforts.
• Maintain effective media exposure globally through the assistance of our appointed PR agencies.
• Work alongside Social Media Co-ordinator and Wildlife Content Creator to ensure content across all social media platforms aligns with PR Strategy and Content Calendar. 

REQUIREMENTS, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPECTATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in Public Relations, preferably within the hospitality or luxury lifestyle industry.
• Proven track record of successfully executing PR campaigns and securing exceptional, high profile media coverage.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
• Strong existing relationships with local and/ or international media contacts.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with media contacts and stakeholders.
• Creative thinking and strategic mindset, with the ability to develop innovative PR initiatives.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and PR software/ tools.
• Experience managing social media platforms (e.g., Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn) for business purposes.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, prioritise tasks and meet tight deadlines.
• Flexibility to travel occasionally and work outside of standard business hours as needed.

It is important that the candidate is able to work as part of a team and is a good cultural fit for The Royal Portfolio.
South African citizenship is advantageous. A valid work permit is essential if you are not in possession of a South African ID document.
