SUMMARY:
The Post Harvest Manager will be responsible for overseeing all activities related to the handling, storage, processing, and distribution of fresh produce, such as avocados, litchis, kiwis, and pecans. This role ensures that post-harvest operations run smoothly, maintaining product quality, minimizing losses, and adhering to regulatory standards.
POSITION INFO:
Candidate Profile:
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Agriculture, Horticulture, Agronomy, Soil Science, or a related field.
- At least five years of experience in a management role, with strong leadership skills in fresh produce post-harvest or supply chain management.
- In-depth knowledge of food safety and regulatory standards.
- Proficiency in data management and analysis software.
- Understanding of international trade terms and multimodal transportation.
- Willingness to work extended hours during peak seasons and travel to packhouses or suppliers.
- Experience in the sub-tropical fruit or fresh produce industry is essential.
