Oracle Cloud Consultant

SUMMARY:
Our client in the Netherlands is seeking an Oracle Cloud Consultant (DevOps) Consultant to design, implement, and manage Oracle Cloud solutions, focusing on data integration, automation, and security. The role involves optimizing cloud infrastructure, ensuring database performance, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

POSITION INFO:
As an Oracle Cloud Consultant, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and management of Oracle Cloud solutions, with a focus on data integration, GoldenGate, object storage, Autonomous Database, and Autonomous Data Warehouse services to meet the organization’s needs. You will collaborate closely with IT and development teams to ensure the efficient deployment and operation of Oracle Cloud services.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Cloud Infrastructure Management: Design, deploy, and manage Oracle Cloud infrastructure, with a focus on optimizing data integration and GoldenGate replication.
• Database Management: Install, configure, and maintain Oracle databases, including Autonomous Database and the Autonomous Data Warehouse, in the cloud environment. Perform performance tuning, backup, and recovery.
• Data Integration: Develop and maintain data integration processes and ETL pipelines to facilitate seamless data movement between different systems and databases.
• Object Storage: Manage object storage solutions within Oracle Cloud, ensuring efficient storage and retrieval of data.
• Security and Compliance: Implement and enforce security best practices to protect cloud resources, data, and applications, including those in the Autonomous Database and Autonomous Data Warehouse. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
• Automation and Scripting: Develop automation scripts and tools to streamline cloud provisioning, monitoring, and management tasks, with a particular focus on database and data integration processes.
• Scaling and Optimization: Monitor system performance, analyze metrics, and scale resources as needed to ensure optimal performance and cost-efficiency, especially for Autonomous Database and Autonomous Data Warehouse.
• Disaster Recovery: Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans and mechanisms to ensure business continuity, with a special emphasis on data integrity.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, provide technical expertise, and support application deployment and integration with Oracle Cloud services.
• Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for cloud infrastructure, data integration processes, and GoldenGate replication.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Proven experience in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and Oracle Database administration, with a focus on Autonomous Database and Autonomous Data Warehouse.
• Strong knowledge of cloud computing concepts, virtualization, and infrastructure as code (IaC).
• Proficiency in scripting and automation using languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell, with a focus on data integration and data replication (GoldenGate).
• Experience with cloud security practices and compliance standards.
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools for cloud environments.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Oracle Cloud certifications (e.g., Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Certified Architect) are a plus.

Good to Have

• Experience with other cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with 3rd party cloud orchestration and automation technologies (e.g., Terraform).
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines, especially for data integration and database deployment.
