POSITION INFO:

Reporting Line: Head of Operations

Job Summary:
The Operations Specialist supports daily local and global settlements, private client administration, and post-trade activities, focusing on efficient transaction settlements while providing backup for the trade support team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage settlement obligations for Equity, Derivative, and Bond trades.
• Ensure timely implementation of procedures for transaction settlements.
• Resolve queries related to trades from brokers and custodians.
• Assist in monitoring daily post-trade settlements for international equity trades.
• Compile incident reports and analyze root causes of potential breaches.
• Coordinate private client trading instructions with the trading desk.
• Develop and document business processes and standard operating procedures.

Qualifications and Experience:

• 3–5 years’ experience in financial services with exposure to stockbroking or financial markets.
• Strong understanding of financial instruments and settlements.
• Proficiency in IT systems, including advanced Excel and exchange systems.
• Relevant qualifications such as BCom or B.Compt.
