Operations Manager - FMCG

SUMMARY:
Operations Manager – Retail Sector
An exciting new opportunity has arisen for an operations Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing, sustaining and improving the profitability of the plant.
The Operations Manager will be responsible for executing the business unit strategy, leading and fostering an organizational culture conducive to business success and in line with the Group culture journey.
Duties & Responsibilities
Ensure all operations are carried out in an effective, efficient and cost-effective manner, ensuring service levels are met.

• Staff management – full 360 management
• Improve operational management systems, processes and best practices.
• Ensure all quality control and food safety standards are met in production facilities – alongside the Chef de Cuisine
• Budget management and cost control.
• Growing of the company’s people and culture.
• Ensure that production activities are performed to the highest standards and according to best practice principles.
• Responsible for developing and operational budget incl. CAPEX projects, management of costs and projects.
• Project management.
• Focused on continuous improvement, leading improvement projects and other projects (incl. CAPEX projects).
• Lead, develop and nurture a competent operational team.
• Reporting - daily / weekly and monthly
• Any additional duties as assigned by owner / manager

POSITION INFO:

• Desired Experience & Qualification
  Grade 12 with a formal tertiary qualification (Business Management, Operations Management).
• At least 10 years’ experience in a FMCG environment, with previous knowledge and experience in organizational effectiveness (OEE’s, waste reduction etc.) and operations management.
• Strong background in leadership and management, including managing a number of operational teams.
• Solid project management experience is critical.
• Computer literate (Ms Excel skills, exposure to or experience with an ERP system will be an advantage).
